Shank Public Relations Counselors Captures Prestigious Public Relations Silver
Anvil Award of Excellence
NEW YORK CITY – June 28, 2011 – The Public Relations Society of America awarded Indianapolis-headquartered Shank Public Relations Counselors, Inc the Silver Anvil Award of Excellence for its work with the Japan-America Society of Indiana “Bridges To Japan” exhibit promotion at the 2010 Indiana State Fair.
The Silver Anvil Award is the most esteemed honor in the public relations industry and of 852 applicants only 122 organizations were selected as finalists. Of these 122 Silver Anvil Award finalists, Shank Public Relations Counselors was the only Indiana firm selected.
“This is the Academy Awards of the public relations industry. It’s a great honor for our client and for us to be honored with the Silver Anvil Award of Excellence. The Japan-America Society of Indiana knew they had a challenge when Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels said he wanted a major Japanese exhibition at the 2010 Indiana State Fair. Shank Public Relations Counselors promoted the “Bridges to Japan” exhibit using research, traditional and social media. The “Bridges to Japan” exhibit was a combined program of the Japan-America Society of America, Gov. Mitch Daniels’ office, the Indiana Economic Development Corp. and the Indiana State Fair, Shank said.
Hundreds of public relations organizations from small firms to major agencies enter their best work in the PRSA competition each year. According to PRSA, “the program recognizes and honors the very best public relations programs planned and executed each year.”
Locally, the “Bridges to Japan” exhibit, Shank Public Relations and the Japan-America Society of Indiana were honored to win the “Best of Show” Pinnacle award from the Hoosier Chapter of PRSA.
